New Moon in Virgo at 0 degrees on August 23, 2025

In case we needed an extra reminder to begin again this New Moon is bringing that energy by being at the 0 degree marker. It's like a herald saying something new is needed in this area of your chart. Where is Virgo in your natal chart? Which house? What are some of the themes you find there? If it's the 3rd house, perhaps a new perspective is needed. If it's in the 11th house, maybe it's time to look for a new group or connection. If it's in the 12th, how does a retreat feel to you? Remember, this is a seeding energy, so what do you want to plant, knowing it'll take some time, effort, and some weeding before fruition?

We have back to back New Moons in Virgo. This first one is on August 23rd and the 2nd one is on September 21, 2025 at 29 degrees Virgo. We are getting the full range of Virgo these next few weeks. Further, the 2nd New Moon is an eclipse on an anorectic degree. It is time to use some of Virgo's super powers--adaption, practicality, discernment, organization, and priorities.

Hold on to your hat, because this New Moon also is receiving a square from Uranus, newly in the sign of Gemini. Uranus, the Great Awakener, is here with some shocking insight, information, and "aha" moments. Where are we seeking freedom and innovation? Where do we discern we need more space and change? Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury (and let's not forget that Mercury is the ruler of these lunations who just finished up a retrograde in our Leo houses). We need a cosmic adaptor with Uranus--sometimes the energy and information Uranus hits us with is like touching an electric fence.

But, Mercury can act like the surge protector here. Mercury reminds us to carefully observe and witness before jumping to conclusions or to a reactive place. Mercury is coming out of a retrograde cycle and just about to clear its shadow--what does that mean? Go slow. Trust. Remind yourself that this is a New Moon, so once you've planted something, you don't go dig it up and check on it. You trust that with love, nourishment, and care whatever was seeded will grow. This is the energy of this New Moon.
