If you’ve ever been to the beach and gone swimming, you may know what it’s like to take a deep breath before you go under a huge wave. This could be some of the feelings evoked this week as we approach the New Moon Solar Eclipse next week, as like a wave, the energy is building.
April 1- Mercury stations retrograde at 27 degrees of Aries I always see the moments a planet stations to go retrograde or direct as a cosmic exclamation point. Maybe even more so with the planet of communication. Take note of all communications in all its forms: how you speak, listen, hear, perceive, feel, etc. Aries is a Mars-ruled sign, so there’s some heat here, you may notice a spark to your conversations or insights. You may also notice a bit of an edge. Since Mercury is going backward, from our perspective on Earth, we may feel frustrated that we need to review some things already covered or discussed.
Moon moves into Capricorn
April 3- Venus and Neptune conjunct at 28 degrees of Pisces- They say Venus does very well (exaltation) in Pisces and Neptune is one of the rulers of Pisces, so there’s something beautiful and dreamy on offer when the two of them meet. You may feel an overwhelming sense of compassion, beauty, and sensitivity with others or in your experiences. Don’t get so wrapped up in the dreamy energy that you lose touch with reality. It may be a great day to take the day off to be with loved ones, dream, meditate, create, nap, get near some water, but then get back to missed work or appointments the following day.
Moon moves into Aquarius
April 4- The Sun conjuncts the North Node at 15 degrees of Aries The Sun speaks to consciousness, our ego, and how we put our energy out into the world. The North Node is asking us to stretch ourselves and perhaps be a part of something bigger than we are. It’s like going to goal while being triple-teamed, a little intimidating, but with the drive and determination to go for it.
April 5- Venus goes into Aries. Just a few days ago, Venus met with Neptune and the image I get is of someone lying across a divan and luxuriating in something decadent and sumptuous. This energy could be a bit of a rude awakening, as Venus is now in a place that she is said to be in her detriment. If you have Venus in Aries, don’t read this as negative. It could signal a place where you have some extra challenges, but the beauty of astrology is, that once you’re aware of this, you can work with the energy differently. A planet in detriment is in a sign opposite of the one it rules, so in the case of Venus, who rules Libra, she is in the sign that doesn’t do relationships easily. Venus in Aries is more independent, fiery, and commanding. Venus knows what she wants and isn’t afraid (or not focusing on the fear) to go for it. Venus may not be so tactful, fair, or compromising in Aries. Notice if some of your relationships are a little tense, see if you can focus that energy on something physical instead. Say you and your best friend are getting into a bit of an argument, what if you took that argument out on a walk instead? If you’re both moving, it could help.
Moon moves into Pisces
April 6- Venus in Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius at 1 (almost 2) degrees- Pluto is here to offer some kind of olive branch to Venus. How can you meet this energy halfway? Look at what needs to be let go of or released. What has gone past its expiration date in relationships? Use this energy to molt, slough, and shed in places that feel stale, stagnant, or even rotting. Funnel the energy into some creative outlet. I recently watched one of my favorite renovation shows, and they highlighted an artist who made a painting out of sheets of paper from someone’s old journal. How incredible is that? They took something that was sitting collecting dust and made it into something that not only made their den prettier but memorialized their mother who had recently died.
April 7-Moon moves into Aries
**My intention with these weekly astrology reports is something like looking at a weather app. If you know it will rain, you’ll bring an umbrella. Awareness can help us navigate the Astro “weather” too. I hope to share this information in an easily digestible way (not too much jargon). Please read this information knowing that these energies can appear in higher or lower forms.
