Pluto has moved into Aquarius. There will be a brief time in September to November of 2024 where Pluto dips back into Capricorn, but we should start seeing themes in the collective shift. Aquarius is an air sign that has to do with communication and thoughts. Have we become fixed or entrenched in our thinking? A neural pathway is created when a behavior is performed over and over. One iteration of Pluto in Aquarius could be looking at our mental health. Neuroplasticity looks at how the brain has the ability to ‘rewire’ itself. What is your attitude towards transformation? Are you ready to change?

The last planet goes direct this week. Uranus. Uranus’s archetype is often compared to the mythology of Prometheus, the god that brought fire to mortals. Awakenings, ‘aha’ moments, breakthroughs, independence, freedom, revelation and revolution, inspiration, quick changes, awareness, and radical shifts. With all the planets direct, we may notice an uptick in how quickly time is going. It already feels like months have gone by since the holidays and I’m writing this on January 10th. Have you noticed a change? Where are you wanting to break free? Uranus is in Taurus, the sign of the bull. Where have we been yoked, as in oxen, tied to something that may feel as if we’ve been tied too tight? Where do we want to shake loose of the shackles? 

January 21- Sun conjunct Pluto enters Aquarius. Yesterday we had the final Sun and Pluto conjunction in Capricorn and now we have the Sun and then Pluto enters a new sign. This could be a big news day. The Sun could be offering an extra spotlight on Aquarian themes. Themes around how we differ, what is alien to us, how we stand out, and how we are unique may be noticed. Aquarius wants innovation and is a progressive sign. It can be unpredictable and needs to change. Aquarius is a fixed air sign, so communication becomes more important. Can we listen to hear as well as share our distinctive points of view?  Pluto is here to radically change something, In order to do that, the rot has to be pointed out. What has gone past its expiration date? We have a 20-year deep dive with Pluto in Aquarius. “We the people” takes on extra significance. What is for the greater good? How do we get in touch with our humanity? What’s our vision for the future?

January 23-  Venus enters Capricorn. Venus leaves the fiery sign of sag for the earthy sign of Capricorn. Do we land with a plop? Our interactions with others may get a little more serious, a little more practical, and a little more realistic. Mars and Mercury have been closely traveling together and just a little bit ahead of Venus. Whatever words that may have been unforgiving or a little callous, may be soothed by Venus arriving on the scene. There’s a need to take responsibility when it comes to relationships. What is mine? What is yours? Can we detach from the emotionality of it all and notice the facts of a situation? 

January 25- Full Moon in Leo at 5 degrees. The full moon is opposite Pluto and squares Jupiter in Taurus. As we are getting acclimated to Pluto in Aquarius, this can bring up the Leo-Aquarius polarity. We may become aware of where the focus on individual experience is challenged by a more collective POV. There could be the push and pull feeling of wanting to creatively self-express amongst the groups and associations you are a part of. Where do you notice that a group effort gets you further than you would on your own? Is that empowering? How do you make meaning (Jupiter) of it all?

Mars and Mercury in Capricorn square Chiron in Aries and the north and south nodes at 15 degrees. Words can sting. Actions can hurt. What do we want to do about it? Be careful with our words--once said they can't be taken back. What comes up and out for us when we feel wounded? Can it initiate a purging or release of energy that’s been repressed? Chiron is interested in healing modalities, so consider what’s available to you to ease any hurts. Be mindful before you speak or act.

January 27- Sun in Aquarius squares Jupiter in Taurus at 6 degrees. The Sun could be showing some of our collective blind spots. Who has resources and who doesn’t? Are we becoming more deeply aware of entitlement issues? How do we locate faith and optimism? Those are airy concepts that may not be tangible to us in our day-to-day lives. A square connotes stress and a chaffing energy. What is rubbing you the wrong way? Venus in Capricorn sextiles Saturn in Pisces at 5 degrees. Can we meet someone halfway? Can we take responsibility for our side of the road? Perhaps we notice where boundaries have been crossed? Saturn in Pisces sextiles Jupiter in Taurus at 6 degrees. Right after Saturn and Venus connect, Saturn then moves on to work in tandem with Jupiter. We are being asked to make meaning of any reality checks we are noticing. If things are getting serious in relationships, this energy could help you figure out where your philosophies can work together. Uranus goes direct at 19 degrees. Areas of life lacking originality or have been in some review of some kind, now feel the surge of forward progress. 

January 28- Venus in Capricorn trines Jupiter in Taurus at 6 degrees. This feels like a continuation of the energies from the day before. It’s as if you decide you’re going to take a hard look at a relationship (maybe one you take for granted) and when you do that, there are serious benefits. It can connect you to a sense of meaning and purpose for the relationship in tangible ways.

Awareness can help us navigate the Astro “weather” too.
