Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Virgo

This is a total lunar eclipse in Virgo at 24 degrees. The first of this eclipse series was in Pisces back in September of 2024 and we will continue to work with the energies of Pisces/Virgo for the next 2 years.
Whenever we have a Full Moon we know the Sun and Moon are opposite each other. The Full Moon is a letting go of energy. Something has come to fruition and full extension and now it’s receding. The Moon is in Virgo next to the South Node. The South Node signals a place of emptying out. So, immediately, we have a theme here–one of detaching and unloosening.
The Sun is in Pisces, and is sandwiched between Saturn on one side and the North Node and Neptune on the other. This feels like background “music” that may feel somewhat depressive, a slap of cold water on your face, or a hard reality check. And, with everything else going on, it could be we don’t want to tune into it or we may look for ways to escape it. Double down on self care. Virgo, as the host of the eclipse with the south node, can also hold an angsty, destabilizing energy. So, look for ways to soothe yourself–get into nature, take a bath, do some yoga, arts and crafts projects, journal, hydrate. Virgo is a sign of service, so we may feel like we need to push through this energy and keep going, but the energy of an eclipse is unstable, so slow down, take your time, and try not to force anything.
The ruler of this eclipse is Mercury, and it’s in Aries and about to go retrograde (March 15th). We may need to walk back some conversations, contracts, or other forms of communications. We may have forgotten to dot an i or cross a t. There may be a loophole and something is unraveling. Where have we let perfectionism take over? Can we look at the details and try to make something good enough instead of perfect?
This eclipse also has a trine from Uranus, so there could be an unexpected change that helps you break from some traditional role or familiar routine.
If you’re feeling this energy more intensely than others, show yourself some grace. If you’re noticing it happening for others, offer some compassion and a safe place to regroup. This eclipse is the opening note of a two year composition (which is when the nodes move to Aquarius and Leo). In other words, this is just the opening act.
