As this month opens, we have all the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) and Saturn in retrograde. The outer planets in RX signals a slow but inexorable need to change. Chiron, an asteroid, is also RX, suggesting a healing process is underway.

Planetary Movements and Lunations for September:

September 1: Pluto RX moves back into Capricorn

September 1: Uranus stations RX in Taurus

September 2:  New Moon in Virgo at 11 degrees

September 4: Mars moves into Cancer

September 9: Mercury moves into Virgo

September 17: Full Moon Lunar eclipse at 25 degrees of Pisces

September 22: Sun moves into Libra

September 23: Venus moves into Scorpio

September 26: Mercury moves into Libra

August 27

Venus in Virgo trine Uranus in Taurus at 27 degrees -Think back to August 1st when Venus was in Leo and squared Uranus in Taurus, and you could remember a time that was more unsettling, angsty, but may have brought some freedom. Now we have a trine energy between the two, so we could notice a more easeful energy. Can we determine or prioritize what is most important in our relationships or financial affairs? Sometimes we need to keep things very simple and elemental. We don’t need over the top or something that breaks the bank, maybe a blanket and a beautiful sunset. Savor the uncomplicated.

August 28

Venus in Virgo opposite Neptune RX in Pisces at 29 degrees- In order to swim, we need to let go of the shore. There is some kind of adaptation needed here. We may be experiencing some harsh criticism. We may be feeling overwhelmed or more sensitive in our relationships. We may be feeling vulnerable and maybe even a bit disillusioned in love and/or finances. We may need some time to recoup our losses. Embrace compassion and the desire to rest if need be.

Mercury stations direct at 21 degrees of Leo- Mercury has been straddling the signs of Virgo and Leo during this retrograde. Can we use what Virgo has taught us around sussing out info and critiquing it for value to help us inform where our loyalties lie? How do you want to communicate your most authentic self? It could be with a little dramatic flair, but whatever way you choose to shine, do so with alacrity.

August 29

Venus moves into Libra- Venus comes home to a sign she rules, so here she has some extra dignity after spending time in a sign she may have some struggles in, Virgo. How can you restore balance within yourself, relationship, and any financial landscapes? Libra is a cardinal air sign, so we may want to get something started in this area of our life. We may want to talk to trusted confidantes. How can tact help us with any relationship strife we may have been experiencing?

Venus in Libra Trine Pluto RX in Aquarius at 0 degrees- right away Venus meets with Pluto and we may find some support we need from a powerful ally. This is a chance to collaborate with others in an empowered way. Lots of talking, discussing, and future visioning. We may be upsetting the apple cart, but with the intention to help all concerned in some equitable way.

September 1

Uranus stations RX in Taurus at 27 degrees- The last outer planet stations to go retrograde. The outer planets spend most of the year in retrograde, so this isn’t some startling aha moment, but a time to review the recent revelations We can only see the planets up to Saturn with the naked eye, if we want to see Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, we need an intermediary, like a telescope, and that can be helpful insight for us. The information that we glean from the outer planets need some mediation of some kind. We may find we need some support or a go-between to help us integrate the messages we receive. Uranus has been like the Miley Cyrus song “Wrecking Ball”. Have we been doing the wrecking or are we feeling wrecked? What have we been freed of? Is there more work to be done? We may be sitting amongst the rubbles–bewildered and unsure, so the retrograde, in essence, is a chance to catch your breath and ascertain the next steps we want to take.

Pluto RX moves back into Capricorn- Pluto goes back into Capricorn for one last “hurrah” until November. It can feel like any vestiges of some notable structures have some final date with destiny. This will be an intense reckoning since Pluto largely stays in the final degree of Capricorn. I’ve said this before, but we can’t begin something new if we are clinging to something else. Nature abhors a vacuum but nothing new can come in if you have kept the area clogged with old goals or ideals. The final degree of a sign has been connected with a sense of instability. In one sense, you’ve learned all you can learn, but pushing off into the unknown brings its own anxieties, so sometimes we need a final push, before we brave some new frontier.

September 2

Mercury in Leo trine Chiron RX in Aries at 22 degrees- A trine is the energy of Jupiter–large, expansive, and optimistic. What messages bring us a sense of hope and meaning on our healing journeys? What keeps us going? What makes us want to keep forging ahead? What makes us aware of our vulnerability in these meat suits we occupy but have us soldiering on?

New Moon at 11 degrees of Virgo- The New Moon is at 11 degrees of Virgo and opposes Saturn in Pisces. Mercury, the ruler of this lunation is in Leo and coming back to square Uranus again. What can we learn from having healthy boundaries? How do we discern between what is ours to be responsible for and what is someone else’s? Do we need a wake up call? Have we been pressing the snooze button somewhere in our life? Let’s make practical, realistic new intentions for this New Moon.

**My intention with these weekly astrology reports is something like looking at a weather app. If you know it will rain, you’ll bring an umbrella. Awareness can help us navigate the Astro “weather” too. I  hope to share this information in an easily digestible way (not too much jargon).  Please read this information knowing that these energies can appear in higher or lower forms.
