April 7-14th

Is anyone going somewhere to watch the eclipse? We won’t see another one in the US as significant until 2044. Eclipses are already influential, but if you’re in the US, this feels like we are getting an extra oomph of energy. Aries is a cardinal fire sign, so expect rapid changes–like adding an accelerant to get your BBQ started. We may notice quick rises and falls in world leaders. Aries is ruled by Mars, so be on the lookout for feisty, fiery energy. Something wants to get started.

April 7

Moon moves into Aries at 7:24 am EST. The Moon is moving into position for the eclipse. We could tap into that extra drive or feel that hint of something new beginning. Or it could just feel like extra anxiety. Double down on self-care routines.

April 8

Total Solar Eclipse at 19 degrees of Aries. Looking at the chart for this moment, it’s striking how all the planets are on one side of the chart opposing the south node in Libra. The Sun, Moon, North Node, Chiron, and a retrograde Mercury are all conjunct in the sign of Aries. Venus has just started her journey in Aries as well. Will she be on standby to offer some kind of support? Mars, the ruler of this lunation is conjunct Saturn in Pisces. This feels slightly paradoxical. It reminds me of the game “Red Light, Green Light” from growing up. If you’ve never played that game, the idea is that all the players line up on the same line, while one person stands at a distance apart. That person will dictate the players’ movements by saying “red light” (stop forward motion) or “green light” (move), and whoever reaches the person first wins. However, if the person says “red light” and catches you still moving, you have to start from the beginning again. So there’s a stop/start or push/pull movement here. There’s a focus on momentum and making progress. But, there are also restrictions, which could cause frustration or friction. What to do with this type of energy? One suggestion could be to “work smarter, not harder.” Be strategic with your energy, and then take breaks as needed. Be careful of burnout. Which would mimic the theme of an eclipse–instability, the “light” goes out, a disconnection. On one hand, you have the cardinal sign of Aries, the Sun and Moon providing a new moon energy, and the North Node expressing a feeling of hunger and on the other hand, you have a retrograde Mercury, and Mars, the ruler of the eclipse, in a conjunction with Saturn in the watery sign of Pisces. Don’t be surprised if something stops as quickly as it starts or vice versa. Conversely, whatever you start may take time and effort to achieve. It’s not a quick achievement in other words.

Sun conjunct Chiron at 19 degrees of Aries- The Sun is highlighting vulnerability. Chiron speaks to a healing journey. What type of healing journey? Consider looking at the patterns in your life that never seem to resolve and that is the energy of Chiron. Our culture promotes perfectionism. How is that working out for us on an individual basis? Perhaps by exploring that line of inquiry, we find the wound of being a spiritual being inside a vulnerable flesh form. We may be questioning our right to exist during the unstable energy of the eclipse. With both the Sun and Chiron being in the Mars-ruled sign of Aries, it's possible that taking definitive action acts as a catalyst for healing. It’s important to remember the myth of Chiron teaches us to learn about our wounds and to take that information and pass it on to others. Chiron searched for years for a cure only to find that where he was wounded (the immortal side) could not be healed. But, in his search, there was valuable insight that could help others, so he spent a large part of his life teaching others to help themselves. This aspect may highlight the wound but also ways to work with it.

April 9

Moon moves into Taurus at 7:23 am EST

April 10

Mars conjuncts Saturn at 14 degrees of Pisces- The conjunction between Mars and Saturn I explained in the eclipse energy profects today. The exquisite tension comes to a head. You may notice yourself, or others, reaching a boiling point. When you’re dealing with the fiery energy of Mars in a water sign like Pisces, it’s important to be cognizant of a needed balance. Fire can make water simmer at the right temperature. Too high, and the water boils over or evaporates.

Too low, and nothing changes, there’s a quality of placidity. Are you willing to put in the hard work that may be necessary to reach a goal? Do you feel purposeful or inhibited in the Pisces area of life? Is there something you want to do about it?

April 11

Sun conjuncts Mercury RX at 22 degrees of Aries- Time for review, reconsideration, reframing, reworking, and revamping. Has there been a sense of your mind being over-stimulated with too many choices or options? Have you followed a course of action, but it’s lacking strategic perspective?

Moon moves into Gemini at 8:58 am EST

April 13

Moon moves into Cancer at 1:44 pm EST

**My intention with these weekly astrology reports is something like looking at a weather app. If you know it will rain, you’ll bring an umbrella. Awareness can help us navigate the Astro “weather” too. I  hope to share this information in an easily digestible way (not too much jargon).  Please read this information knowing that these energies can appear in higher or lower forms.
