The first New Moons of 2024: Is there a pattern?

There seems to be a motif to the first few New Moons of 2024. Read on and let me know what you think.

The first three new moons of the year happen at 20°of Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces respectively. Then we have the New Moon Solar eclipse at 19 degrees of Aries.

The New Moon in Capricorn was on January 11, 2024, at 20 degrees. It received a trine from Uranus, squared the nodes,  a sextile from Neptune, and a very wide conjunction with Pluto. If we look at the chart we start noticing planets starting to bunch in Capricorn. There’s Mars, the Sun, the Moon, and Pluto. The energy feels like it’s time to initiate a change, start something new, and to take a risk. Capricorn is a cardinal earth energy. Initiate and ground 

The New Moon in Aquarius is on February 9, 2024, at 20 degrees. Now, the New Moon is receiving a square from Uranus, a widening sextile from Neptune, and the nodes offer a trine and sextile energy. Notice where you are stuck! Innovate, change, shake things up. The planets continue to clump together: The Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Pluto are in Aquarius. Are you ignoring the signals? Pluto is brand new in Aquarius, maybe you’re just getting a whiff of something that has been festering. Aquarius is a fixed air energy. Talk about what needs some originality. 

The New Moon in Pisces is on March 10, 2024, at 20 degrees. Uranus is now offering a sextile. The planets that are co-mingling are Saturn, Sun, Moon, and Neptune. Meet the energy halfway. Go with the flow. Even though it may be difficult or not as clear, create boundaries as needed. Pisces is a mutable water energy. Adjust your creative process.

The New Moon in Aries is a solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, at 19 degrees. The North node and Chiron are conjunct the New Moon, and it’s opposite the South node. Venus, North Node, Chiron, Moon, Sun, and Mercury are all in Aries. An eclipse brings instability, so we may not be feeling so confident in what we want to birth. Aries is a cardinal fire sign. Begin, begin, and pioneer. 

Do you have any natal planets or angles between 19 and 20 degrees? 

If you do, then you will probably be feeling this more acutely than others who don’t. A New Moon is a seeding energy–a brand new beginning. So, if it’s on your Mars, you may feel you need to make changes to how you react, anger, or how you want to take action. If it’s on your MC, you may feel like you want to change jobs or shake up your job description. MC has to do with your status and how the world views you, so perhaps you are thinking about marriage or leaving a partner. 

There are other mitigating factors, such as, what other planets it interacts with, or how effective that planet is, by sign and placement, but start with what planet is interacting with a natal placement. What is its archetype? What is its POV? What is its sphere of influence? How could that be affecting the natal placement? 

Even if you don’t have any planets or angles at those degrees, look to those houses for the experiences that may be affected by the New Moon energies.
