**My intention with these weekly astrology reports is something like looking at a weather app. If you know it will rain, you’ll bring an umbrella. Awareness can help us navigate the Astro “weather” too. I hope to share this information in an easily digestible way (not too much jargon). Please read this information knowing that these energies can appear in higher or lower forms. Even though I may give specific dates for the exact aspect, you could feel the energies a few days before or after.
This week there is a New Moon in Sagittarius that will already be coloring the energies of this week and will until the next lunation (which is the Full Moon in Cancer on 12/26). A New Moon is an initiatory energy, something new wants to begin. I’ll describe more in a bit, but just know this lunation comes with some possible angsty confusion which could be felt for some time. So, no, you’re not crazy, something wants to begin, but where to start? Further, Mercury is slowing down getting ready for its RX starting on the 12th, so you may want to do the same when it comes to talking, communicating, listening, writing, etc.
The week opens with Venus in Scorpio sextiling Mercury in Capricorn on 12/10. A sextile aspect is considered an “easier” aspect. It requires both parties to meet each other halfway. Conversations between loved ones could be deep, intense, and purposeful. Perhaps that serious conversation goes a little more smoothly than anticipated.
The Sun in Sagittarius will quincunx Uranus in Taurus on 12/11. An adjustment is needed between a burning desire for independence and perhaps some impatience with the “same old” or a sense of being in a rut. You may want to run away and join the circus, but maybe knowing you could feel this energy, you book some downtime instead. Maybe even going for a run, a long walk, or a hike could help you not feel so penned in, and then you’re ready to get back to whatever is irksome. How could a compromise help this situation?
There are two aspects on 12/12 and 12/13:
The New Moon in Sag at 20 degrees and Mercury goes RX (retrograde) in Capricorn. The New Moon is in a wide conjunction (fusion) with Mars. You may feel goaded or urged to start something new. It could feel sassy, cajoling, or prickly in some way–Let’s go explore!! However, this New Moon also squares Neptune in Pisces. How would Road Runner feel to be dropped in a jar of Vaseline after revving up to take off? Perhaps there is some more imagining needed for this brand-new beginning? How can you allow the energy to unfold and show up on its own time? Given that there are many holidays overlapping at this time of year, you may decide to plant that “seed” at another time or be ok when things end up differently than planned.
Then Mercury goes RX on the same day, so you can see there is potential for all of the -RE words (review, reconsider, revise, rework, etc) to mesh with the New Moon energy. (If you want more info, read last week’s blog where I covered it in more depth.)
On 12/15 Mars in Sag trines Chiron in Aries. A trine speaks to something being in flow. We can take the energy for granted because it seems so easy, so to “harness” this energy, you may need to focus on the Mars (take charge) energy. Have you been ignoring some habit that needs to be cut out? I keep thinking of how Mars has been traveling with the Sun for about a month (and will continue to do so until the end of the month). You may not even be aware of how burned out you are. So take stock. Is there anything you could take off your to-do list? Could you reschedule some things for January or February and give yourself some breathing room? Chiron speaks to a chronic wound, one we learn to live with, but that doesn’t mean to ignore. When we notice the red flags, what do we do? Can we respond differently this time?
On 12/17 the Sun in Sag makes the exact square with Neptune in Pisces (hence how you may feel this hazy kind of energy all week). Daydream, nap, take a bath, read a book, play, frolic, reschedule any “have to’s”...just be okay with any consequences later down the line. Venus in Scorpio quincunx (or inconjunct) Chiron in Aries, so if you don’t have the luxury to do any of those suggestions, then give yourself some extra time and space to get things done. Give yourself heaps of self-compassion if it all doesn’t go as planned. Make adjustments as needed.
On a final note, watching the Moon’s interactions this week I noticed it meets up (conjuncts) with a lot of planets:
12/11 Moon and Mars conjunct in Sag
12/12 Moon and Sun conjunct (aka New Moon) in Sag
12/13 Moon and Mercury (now RX) conjunct in Capricorn
12/14-15 Moon and Pluto conjunct in Capricorn
12/17 Moon and Saturn conjunct in Pisces
What does that mean? Our emotions could be up and down. We could be craving a party/vacation, a sweaty workout, or starting a brand new project on Monday and Tuesday. Then on Wednesday, we could be wondering what the hell were we thinking…we need to be serious dammit. Then on the weekend, we could be overwhelmed and not sure what we need to feel nurtured..except for some good boundaries. Be curious. Look at your Sag, Cap, and Pisces houses for more information. Are there any planets there that might be “woken up” in some way too? Following the Moon’s monthly travels through your natal chart is a great way to get to know your chart. As you notice your moods fluctuate, you may start to consciously plan or avoid certain activities based on what you learn.
