January 7-14, 2024

Let’s dive in…The Moon is running the gauntlet this week. It’ll meet up with Venus, Mercury, Mars, Sun (creating the New Moon), Pluto, and by the end of the week conjunct with Saturn. I’m curious how you all will feel this energy. Look at your Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces houses for some clues on a theme. I have this image of the guy in the movie Love Actually with the cue cards and on them there is one single word: Love. Communicate. Act. Shine. Regenerate. Discipline. 

January 8-9th, Mercury in Sag, which is now direct, will square Neptune in Pisces at 25 degrees…shades of December 26th (go back to that post for more info). We may want to look at how we were conditioned to think or perceive. Is there room for new thoughts or beliefs? What remains nebulous?

Mars in Capricorn will sextile Saturn in Pisces at 3 degrees. Focused and disciplined action. We get what we put into a project.  

The Sun in Capricorn trines Uranus in Taurus. A great time for unique, creative self-expression. You could be feeling your oats and ready to showcase something you’ve been working on. Be sure to ground your energy if it feels erratic or jumpy. 

January 11th, New Moon in Capricorn at 20 degrees. Capricorn is a cardinal earth sign. We want to be productive and attain some goals worth aiming for. There are a few extra ‘characters’ on the scene in this lunation. This New Moon squares the Nodes in Libra and Aries. Chiron is next to the North Node. Pluto is in a very wide conjunction with the New Moon. Neptune offers a sextile. Uranus offers a trine. The power of choice. Do you want to be empowered or powered over? Do you seek some freedom and independence? Is that a dream of yours? How can it be healing to rock the boat and like Fleetwood Mac would suggest, “Go your own way”? Does that ruin a relationship or does it have the ability to strengthen it because you dared to voice your needs? What relationships feel draining or have run their course? 

Venus in Sag trines Chiron in Aries at 15 degrees. Can you see a theme here with Chiron in Aries? It’s similar to how the planets meet up with Saturn in Pisces when they come into Sag, but with Chiron, we are seeing those planets get some cathartic opportunity on offer. In some sense, these planets have received a “no” from Saturn, but then some chance at healing comes a little while later. If you’re open to the possibility the energy is there to meet you. Perhaps you recognize the value of doing some healing work when it comes to a partnership. 

January 12th, Mars in Capricorn trines Jupiter in Taurus. This feels like good vibrations. You have the potential to feel strong, confident, and ready to make a move. How can you feel bolstered without a display of machismo? Swagger if you must but without pushing it in others' faces. Does anyone enjoy a blowhard?  Act with integrity, be grateful for your good fortune and share the love. 

January 13th, Mercury comes back into Capricorn. Whatever was put on hold to finish up in Sag is ready to move forward. Mercury is here until early February. Let’s get organized, think, and communicate practically and logically. 

January 14th, Venus has a trine with the North node in Aries as well as an inconjunct with Uranus (all at 19 degrees). Venus rules Libra (which is where the South Node is and it will be sextile to Venus). She’s into the relating game. Aries is about independence, and so is Uranus. It’s not easy for Venus to fly solo, but sometimes you’ve got to rock the boat. I took a class recently with Jason Holley (highly recommend anything he teaches) and he shared how Libra is constantly aware of the open tension systems going on when it comes to connecting with others. Venus rules Libra so she gets the relationship gig. But, now that she has trine with North Node in Aries this time Venus doesn't stick around; maybe she backs away from an argument she can feel brewing and heads for open pastures. It may all be waiting for her when she gets back, but perhaps she comes home with a different perspective. 

Saturn and the Moon meet up in Pisces at 5 degrees. This week could’ve been emotional witih the Moon meeting up with so many planets. Maybe you take a time out to nurture and care for yourself to the best of your ability. Say no to things you don’t have the energy for, and try to leave the guilt out. Jupiter in Taurus offers a sextile so perhaps you find a little grace from a supportive friend as well. This sextile energy between Saturn and Jupiter sticks around for the rest of the month. I kind of see that as it’s meaningful to say no when it's necessary. I also like the saying “No” is a full sentence. 

**My intention with these weekly astrology reports is something like looking at a weather app. If you know it will rain, you’ll bring an umbrella. Awareness can help us navigate the Astro “weather” too. I  hope to share this information in an easily digestible way (not too much jargon).  Please read this information knowing that these energies can appear in higher or lower forms. Even though I may give specific dates for the exact aspects, you could feel the energies a few days before or after as the aspects form and separate. These are all based on EST times.
