Jupiter is leaving Cancer.....

Where is Cancer in your chart? Jupiter has been opening up this area of life in some big and expansive ways. As with any energy, it can go high or low. Some things that grew may not have been so pleasant. We may have gained weight and now facing some physical challenges, work life became big and overwhelming so now home life has suffered, or partner issues came up and we found ourselves considering whether the relationship could make it through. On the other hand, you may have found new job opportunities after being jobless, or met a new special someone, a new health regime came online...you get the gist.
This week would be a great time to consider what Jupiter brought in your life. Jupiter's archetype is connected to Zeus--his creative progeny was significant, and sometimes wanted and others times not at all. But, think about Jupiter as an impulse to grow and expand. There's a desire to broaden our horizons and go in search of (fill in the blank). What brings meaning to you? Where do you feel a sense of faith and optimism? Conversely, where were things excessive and blown out of proportion?
Further, we are about to start a Mercury Retrograde in Cancer, so as Jupiter departs, Mercury is set up for a transit review. Take some time to consider the messages that have and will be coming up for you over this period. Mercury came into Cancer on June 1st. Will station retrograde at 26 degrees of Cancer on June 29th--so here's the time for all the -re words: review, reconsider, reframe, revise, reconnect, etc. It'll station direct on July 22nd at 16 degrees and then finally leave the sign of Cancer on August 9th. Mercury is about the contents of our mind. We may need to flip the script on some stories we always tell ourselves around caretaking, nuturing, nourishment, and themes around safety and security. This could be a good time to give yourself what you need, whether that's a pep talk, a nap, a good meal, or a hug.
If you are.....
Aries Rising- Jupiter spent the last year in your 4th house of home. What have you learned about your need for privacy, connection, and personal foundation? What came up for you around your family, upbringing, or maybe even your parents? Maybe you're a parent yourself and you noticed some themes that were reminiscent of how you were raised--do you want to initiate any changes or take a risk in making a change? Don't forget yourself in this equation. Maybe this energy reminded you to "parent" or nuture yourself first before you can take care of others?
Taurus Rising- Jupiter has been in your 3rd house of how you communicate. Think of ALL the ways we communicate--talking, listening, writing, gestures, and body language. Notice whether your mental chatter picked up or how you needed to attend to that inner voice. Things around siblings, childhood, and your neighbors and neighborhood could've taken a lot of your attention. Perceptions are important to consider too. You may have found you needed help figuring out what was beneath some of the communications with others and/or also with your inner chatter.
Gemini Rising- Jupiter has been in your 2nd house of personal resources. What do you value? What is worth your blood, sweat, and tears? What are your bankable skills? Did your self confidence take a hit? Did you need to shore up your finances or take a good hard look at your budget? You may have noticed the ebb and flow of your resources or possessions. How did that affect your sense of security and self worth?
Cancer Rising- Jupiter has been in your 1st house of the body. This is about your appearance, your personality, and your personal perspective. Jupiter may have been expanding your self awareness. What have you learned about yourself? What did you notice around sensitivities around food and nourishment? Did you need to change your diet? Did you gain some weight? What did you learn about your intuition and insight? Where has it been hard to go directly at something, perhaps you've been skirting any issues that have come up. Where do you need to let go or cling less? What was your physical body trying to communicate to you this year around home? Maybe home took on a whole new meaning?
Leo Rising- Jupiter has been in your 12th house of spirit. This is a place that is deeply spiritual. You may have learned a lot about your spiritual well being and also your undoing. You may have found you became more of a homebody or needed more time alone. What did you notice about escapist tendencies or maybe about the skeletons in your "closet". This area of life tends to be a little more shadowy and harder to pin down. You may have noticed your spirit needed some nourishment, care, and some TLC.
Virgo Rising- The 11th house has been the area that Jupiter has been opening up. What did you learn about the connections you have? What did you learn about your communities, associations, and groups you are a part of. What did that tell you about your hopes and dreams? Maybe you found out that this area of life needed some priortizing and you found these places deeply fulfilling and soulful. On the other hand, you could have found that this area of life needed some reform or revamping. Perhaps you used to love your book club, but now they only read what's on Oprah's list and your ready for more of a challenge? Maybe you're feeling called to some new humanitarian cause instead?
Libra Rising- The 10th house has been lit up for you. What has occuppied your time and energy? Has work life increased or intensified? How has that affected your health? How about your home life? You may have noticed how important achievement in this area of life is to you? What is it about status and reputation that may have largely gone unnoticed until now? Maybe something has been unearthed here and you realized you have some goals that haven't been reached. Sometimes Libra learns from going to extremes, so this year may have been a bit like riding in a boat during a storm--choppy and a little nauseating. How can you find some balance after any tumult?
Scorpio Rising- Jupiter has been traveling through your 9th house. Speaking of travel, have you been busier lately? Have you had lots of trips? Visits with friends and/or family? Have foreign lands been calling? Even if it's the next town over, what have you been learning? Have you taken some new classes? Or want to learn new things? Maybe you downloaded Duolingo and working on learning a different language? Have you been publishing or doing any teaching? Maybe it's your personal philosophies that have been opened up? Legal matters can be here as well as religion and any kind of higher learning.
Saggitarius Rising- The 8th house has been cracked open for you. What brings meaning to your life when it comes to joint resources? This is a place of all the taboo topics we don't like to discuss, like sex, death, and taxes. Your partner's finances could have increased or maybe come under some kind of review. Maybe you need to look at your budget and look at where to cut back any excesses. Maybe inheritances or grant money or someone's money came into play. This is also the place of psyche and maybe something came up around safety and security themes when it comes to relying on other's to provide financial stability.
Capricorn Rising- The 7th house speaks to all of our commited partnerships, 1:1 relationships, and how we relate to others. What's been going on with your most intimate relationships? This is a place of contracts and collaboration. So it could be that something is going on for your partner, business partner, or other personal relationships. What have you learned about commitment and showing up for those important people in your life? Perhaps it's been an emotional roller coaster. How do you feel about roller coasters? You may not love the highs and lows, or conversely you may get a thrill from it. Jupiter wants you to extract the meaning behind all those highs and lows. What have you learned through others?
Aquarius Rising- The 6th house has been opened up for you. What have you learned about what you need for your physical health and well being? Have you had any health issues you can't ignore? Are there habits that contribute to good or poor health that you need to address? This area of life holds our daily mundane tasks--so chop wood, carry water type energy. What have you learned about duties and responsibilities? What have you learned about your diet and how it affects your health? Is there a need for self-improvement? This can also be about your pets. How have they been feeling?
Pisces Rising- Jupiter has been in your 5th house and asking you to look at your creative progeny--whether that's your actual children or your creative projects. What's your relationship to spontaneous self-expression, to play, to pleasure, to romance? How have you learned to embrace your inner child and let it out to play and express? Perhaps you've learned new hobbies that have helped you feel more connected to that inner child? If you have children, maybe your kids (or other family members or other projects) have been more clingy or needy? Maybe you have felt you need to nuture them more, but it has felt like "hovering"? What have you learned from all these fluctuations?
These are a starting off point for you to consider. Clearly the whole chart needs to be taken into consideration, so these may resonate and they may not. If you journal, review your diary or even your calender to see what's been coming up. What do you want to take away from this Jupiter transit in Cancer? Jupiter's transit is 12 years, so look back 12 years (well 13 years now because the transit is ending, so late June 2013- mid July 2014). What do you recall from then? Was there an echoing story this past year? Jupiter will be back for another go in 12 years.
