Full Moon at 6 degrees of Aquarius on July 29, 2026

Here we are at another Full Moon and it's pretty epic. We have Jupiter and the Sun at 6 degrees of Leo opposite the Moon in Aquarius. And, Pluto is currently near by at 4 degrees retrograde. We have something coming into full illumination around themes of the collective, community, belonging, being an outlier, death, power, regeneration, leadership, drama, and loyalty. "What does it all mean?" asks Jupiter.

This lunation is part of a lunar family that began with the New Moon on January 29, 2025 at 9 degrees of Aquarius. Then we had the first quarter Moon at 6 degrees of Aquarius on October 29, 2025. The first quarter Moon is a crisis of action. What do we wan to adjust or commit to so we can keep moving forward? Now we have the Full Moon on July 29, 2026 asking to see something in all its fullness. With Pluto's involvement we are hitting some kind of rock bottom, and you may be feeling you've gone further "down" then you wanted to go, but now you're here, so what do you want to do about it? What's been uncovered? What has shown it's depth? It may feel heavy and even depressing. What does it all mean? But, there's more to the "story" as the lunar families tells us. There will be third quarter Moon on April 28, 2027 at 8 degrees of Aquarius. This phase speaks to a crisis in consciousness. There's a need to evaluate. What needs to be corrected so you can wrap something up? Then, finally there is a new Moon at 6 degrees of Aquarius on January 26, 2028 that will be a threshold moment, where this three year cycle that started back in January of 2025 will conclude and yet there will be a new beginning of the next 3-year cycle in Aquarius.

So, do you have anything in the early degrees of Aquarius? Planets? Angles? You can also look at the other fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, and Scorpio. You can look back at your journals, calendars, and picture reels. Go look at your Instagram or FB posts around those dates. All of these things can provide some clues about the story that has formed and needing more awareness at this point. What will this do? This will give you choice! This will empower you to help decide what to do next. You may not like either option, but that's not the point, it's about the power to take the inititiative and step into your authority. Come what may, you make a choice and live with how it plays out. If it goes badly, what do you want to do about it? If it goes well, what do you want to do about it?

I am re-reading Cheryl Strayed book Wild and love how she portrays that time in her life in such raw and elemental prose. She doesn't hold back. She lays it all out there. I find that inspiring, especially this one line in her book, "The thing about hiking the PCT, the thing that was so profound to me that summer--and yet also, like most things, so very simple--was how few choices I had and how often I had to do the thing I least wanted to do. How there was no escape or denial...I considered my options. There were only two and they were essentially the same. I could go back in the direction I had come from, or I could go forward in the direction I intended to go." So, where do you intend to go? How do you want to get there? Break it down in to the smallest steps you need to, but come up with a strategy.

I think strategy is important because in this chart Venus in Virgo will be squaring Mars in Gemini and that feels personal and relational. Virgo and Gemini are ruled by Mercury and Mercury just went direct in the emotional, intuitive, nurturing (or lack thereof) waters of Cancer. In the highest forms, Venus is seeking harmony and Mars is strategic in what it's going for. Lower forms could feel like betrayal, anger, and chasms within relationships. Our connections may feel unstable. We may not be able to put a finger on exactly what feels off, but we just sense something isn't ok. It could feel like a pit in your stomach or something not easily digestible, but whatever it is, we know a square aspect is asking for change by way of friction. Look to these houses for some clues on where you may find tension and a need for change.

A Full Moon promises illumination and awareness. It may be hard not to react. Whatever occurs, take some time to figure out how you'd like to respond (even if it's after a blow up of some kind). You have choice. It may not feel like it and you may not like the options, in fact you may feel like you're between the proverbial rock and hard place, but there is a choice. Aquarian energy can help us "detach" from some of the emotions, take an eagle's eye view, and then a chance to consider what's most needed in making the changes that are best for all concerned.
