Well, here we are, the final puzzle piece is being placed--Uranus moving into Gemini. On July 7, 2025 to be exact. If you haven't read my post entitled "The Plow", please review to understand the previous statement. But, essentially, the outer planets are moving into formation by sextile and trine. To have one outer planet change signs is dynamic, but to have three in the same year is remarkable. Unprecedented. (Aren't you sick of that word?) Well, Uranus completing the connection is here to herald in the new.
Uranus takes about 84 years to complete one orbit. So, the last time Uranus was in the sign of Gemini was 1941-1949. Uranus usually spends around 7 years in a sign. So take a look at your Gemini house to see if there are any planets or angles there. Consider what topics or experiences are suggested by this house. Now look back at the last 7 years and consider what has happened in your Taurus house to get an idea of how much change has occured. That's what is on tap for your Gemini house.
Historically and for the collective, we can look back at the other cycles of Uranus in Gemini: 1941-1949 (World War II), 1858-1866 (Civil War in the US), 1774- 1782 (Revolutionary War for the US). I've mentioned events for the US, because the chart for the US has Uranus in Gemini at almost 9 degrees ( 8 degrees and 55 minutes to be exact), so the US will be experiencing a return. A planetary return suggests a reminder of the inherent potential that was "baked" into the chart of that particular moment, no matter if it's a person, country, or other entity.
Let's unpack it some more....let's look at all the parts and then consider how to unite them...
First, let's look at the planet...we know that Uranus is volatile because it's about challenging established norms. Not everyone likes or appreciates change. Uranus is unconventional. It encourages us, no, demands us to break off any shackles that keep us bound in some old pattern. It's the earthquake, the rug being pulled out from under you, and the storm that leaves you rudderless. What used to work, no longer is available. It's time to innovate. Can you take a step back? Can you re-assess the situation and look for creative ways to engage with the energy differently? Uranus's archetype is represented by upheaval, innovation, rebellion, and revolution. Change is afoot. What do you want to be different? Are you actively engaged in making those modifications? Can you let go of things, people, experiences that aren't worth the squeeze? The effort just isn't worth the reward--that ship has sailed and you are meant to move onwards and towards something new or that is unknown or untried.
Second, let's look at the sign Gemini. Gemini is a mutable air sign ruled by Mercury. Gemini's archetype is curious, adaptable, and driven by communication and data. Ask all the questions you have! Get all the intel! Check and recheck what you consider to be facts. Be open to multiple perspectives. Explore all the options and then start the whole process again. Doing things twice is part of the Gemini energy. Mutability tells us that something could be inconsistent or it's able to change, shift, or adapt. Air tells us it's about communication, perceptions, translations, and interpretations.
Third, if you know your chart, go look at the Gemini house, so you can get some clues about the new energy coming to shake things up there. Do you have an angle or a planet there? How does that deepen your understanding of how Uranus will bring innovation? You could go a step further and look at the aspects those planet(s) or angles make in your natal chart, to see how Uranus's energy may affect that synergy too.
Now take all that information and re-assemble it. What has shifted by breaking down that information? What can be observed or communicated differently? How can being disoriented help you approach something in a new and ingenious way?
It's time to wake up to the fact that life is different now. In the collective, we often hear about a "golden" time and getting back to that, well, that time is over. How can we adjust to this new reality? Part of the Uranian vision is about the collective. One where we all are free, and we all have the ability to pursue freedom, change, and orginality.
